Role Description:
The Accountant role at The Bottom Line is a full-time, on-site position based in Toledo, OH. The Accountant will handle day-to-day accounting tasks such as recording transactions, reconciling accounts, preparing financial statements, and managing general ledger entries. Responsibilities include supporting tax preparation, assisting with payroll processing, and maintaining accurate bookkeeping records for business and individual clients. The role also involves analyzing financial data, identifying variances, and preparing reports that help clients understand their financial performance. The Accountant will collaborate with team members, communicate with clients regarding financial inquiries, and contribute to process improvements and compliance with relevant regulations.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in general accounting, bookkeeping, and financial statement preparation and analysis.
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks or similar platforms), spreadsheets, and related financial tools.
- Knowledge of tax principles and basic tax preparation processes for businesses and individuals.
- Experience with payroll processing, account reconciliation, and managing accounts payable and receivable.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple client engagements and deadlines.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information to clients in an accessible way.
- Ability to work collaboratively in an on-site team environment and maintain a high level of professional integrity and confidentiality.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or progress toward certification is a plus.
- Previous experience in public accounting or a similar client-facing accounting role is beneficial.
